Romi's Fine Dining is described as an upscale restaurant featuring an "Old World" decor and a distinctive cupola. The restaurant has a banquet room that can accommodate up to 68 people for meetings, seminars and celebrations, a private dining room that can seat up to 16 people, an outdoor patio with a fireplace and wine lockers for guests to store their wine selections.
"It's clearly the best interior of any restaurant I know of in the Antelope Valley, and it rivals many in the L.A. basin," Mayor Jim Ledford said. "I expect it will be very well received."
The restaurant is owned by Navdeep and Melinda Jaggi, who own the popular Bakery Express Cafe. Romi's is the first the couple had built from the ground up.
"This restaurant has been a lifelong dream for me," said Navdeep Jaggi. "I am thankful to the many members of our community who have made Romi's a reality."
Danny Roberts, assistant executive director of Palmdale's Community Redevelopment Agency, said Navdeep Jaggi often talked of "wanting to do something really big. When you're sitting in there, you don't think you're in Palmdale. It is really, really spectacular," Roberts said. "He wanted to take it to another level. I'll tell you, he did take it to another level."
The restaurant features "American cuisine with European flair." Dishes include such items as pasta, crab cake sandwiches and shrimp.
